Gutter Supply Modernizes Contractor Ordering with BigCommerce and Amsive

Gutter Supply has replaced its 20-year custom ecommerce platform with BigCommerce, working with implementation partner Amsive to improve purchasing for contractors and retail customers.
The October 13 announcement describes a business constrained by development delays and dependence on one developer. A shopping-cart upgrade had taken nine months to a year.
“We spent 20 years building on our custom site, but we eventually hit a ceiling,” said Mike Milliman, partner at Gutter Supply.
Milliman said the move allows marketing staff to launch campaigns directly and reduces reliance on custom development.
Amsive Builds Around Contractor Requirements
Amsive oversaw development, combining BigCommerce’s standard B2B functions with specialized ordering tools.
Tom Di Domenico, executive vice president of digital strategy and technology at Amsive, said the architecture enabled Custom Cutting and QuickShop “without reinventing the wheel.”
He explained that built-in commerce capabilities freed engineering resources for features specific to Gutter Supply’s customers. Milliman described those features as “purpose-built for how contractors buy.”
Easier Job Planning and Repeat Orders
The buying experience addresses two different needs: contractors ordering familiar materials across multiple jobs, and homeowners who need help identifying suitable products.
Reusable lists let contractors save materials and quantities for common projects, adjust them for the next job and add selected items—or the entire list—to their cart. Formal quotes remain available separately for orders requiring pricing confirmation.
Bulk-pricing breaks now appear before customers add products to the cart. Buyers can compare options while preparing an estimate, rather than repeatedly changing their basket to reveal prices.
Custom-cutting options sit within eligible product pages, bringing length specifications into the ordering process. Consistent filters across categories help buyers narrow products by material, profile, gauge, colour and size.
For homeowners, product pages bring specifications, compatible accessories and supporting resources together. Customers can move from the same page into purchasing, requesting a quote or saving a list.
Building Repeat Contractor Business
Feedonomics manages the Google Merchant Center feed, allowing channel-specific adjustments without altering the underlying storefront data.
Gutter Supply’s next steps include a contractor free-shipping program in 2027, enhanced carrier partnerships and testing promotions and loyalty programs.
Together, the ordering tools and planned incentives give contractors reasons to keep returning: easier preparation, reusable job lists and purchasing options that fit their work.
