ADI Global Begins Its Independent Technology Race
ADI Global Distribution is now independent after separating from Resideo, with plans to consolidate eight ERP systems into three while scaling its One ADI eCommerce programme.

ADI Global Distribution is now independent, giving the company greater control over its technology strategy. However, independence does not remove the complexity of its existing systems.
ADI completed its separation from Resideo on August 4, 2026. At the Jefferies Global Industrials Conference, CEO Rob Aarnes said the distributor plans to reduce its ERP landscape from eight systems to three.
The scale of the work
The scale of the work is significant. ADI serves more than 100,000 customers with over 500,000 products from more than 1,000 suppliers.
Recent technology implementation
Its recent US technology implementation included ERP, warehouse management and demand planning. Management acknowledged that the change disrupted revenue, but said commercial daily sales have since recovered above their pre-launch level. Future migrations are expected to follow a staged, regional approach.
eCommerce through One ADI
ADI is also prioritising eCommerce through its One ADI programme, which aims to simplify operations, improve customer experience and generate more than $80 million in annual run-rate savings by the end of 2027.
The customer impact
The customer impact will be the real measure of progress. Consolidating systems should support more consistent product information, pricing, inventory visibility and ordering across digital channels and branches.
Independence and responsibility
Independence gives ADI the freedom to focus investment on the needs of its own customers and operations. It also places responsibility for the pace, sequencing and results of the transformation directly with the company.
A question for other distributors
For other distributors considering corporate separation, the question is clear: does running your own technology race create greater speed and focus, or does separating and simplifying inherited systems make the journey more complex before the benefits emerge?
